【Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator】Why can't I use AUTO and Fast Forward during battle?

Tapping the AUTO button will allow you to automatically use skills and Battle Items to fight. Also, tapping Fast Forward button will speed up the battle.
However, in some special battles, the AUTO and Fast Forward buttons cannot be used.
